Yoga & Food Retreat

Yoga & Food Retreat + Design inspiration that came from it.

This yoga and food retreat was superb and I took lots of photos for design inspiration – Wow a truly wonderful and inspiring weekend at Amanda and John’s Yoga Mix retreat. I would recommend this to anyone. I was a Yoga novice and at no point did I feel out of my depth, as they let you do what you could and the one to one teaching allowed you to improve all weekend. I cannot wait to go again next year.

The Coach House in Kirkpatrick Durham in Dumfries & Galloway were the retreat was held was on a farm that had lots of beautiful Llamas and chickens. The chickens were fascinated by us doing our yoga and came to watch each morning. Yoga was in a studio with a log burning stove, you could not plan a better place to learn!

Vinyasa flow Yoga is a dynamic sequence of postures linking movement with the breath in a flowing style, intelligently sequenced to challenge the whole body. These classes are used to build endurance, stamina, strength, and flexibility, while calming the mind.

Vegan food and wonderful walks.

The home-made food Amanda and John made all weekend was incredible. A few people on the retreat were vegan and I was amazed at how tasty the food was. Especially the home-made avocado butter, delicious. Plus lunch outside in October in the sunshine, a truly blessed weekend!

We also had cooking lessons on the Saturday night and I can’t wait to share recipes from them in a new blog posting soon. We made delicious date balls and Quinoa Carrot cake. The chocolates I will make for Christmas as they looked and tasted fab – so packed up in little clear bags they will make great presents!

The walks were why I have started writing this blog-post as I am just starting to use a few of the photos I took that weekend for a new range of designs we are creating for next year called linear landscape. It was the first week in October and we were so lucky to have such beautiful varied weather, which is the best way to see Scotland so you get the soft linear landscapes and truly wonderful colour combinations.

Nature and animals….

Just a few other pictures I wanted to add that I loved from the weekend.
