Wow what an inspiring time of year it is for pattern & colour inspiration in Glasgow – photos from my weekend runs around Glasgow’s Kelvingrove park and the West End where I live. It is such a treat, rather than a chore at this time of year, as full of visual delights! The highlight had to be on Sunday in Kelvingrove Park running along the Kelvin waterside with the smell of wild garlic everywhere – Great to cook with and looks stunning. I had to stop and take photos as you can see!
I also found lots of different coloured bluebells and forget-me-nots which are two of my favourite flowers, as they remind me so much of my Granny and Dad who I miss so much. It was seven years ago on Sunday that my Dad passed away so it was very special to be out running having time to remember and smile about the amazing times we had together. He taught me how to see the details around me and to make time to spend with others, as life is for living and giving.
Pattern & Colour Inspiration Glasgow
My garden is also coming to life in year three and the first year with perennials coming back, wow what a treat! I am a novice gardener but so pleased with the plants I chose last year, that I thought the slugs had possibly eaten, but no they are back!! I have Lupins and Ferns growing from no where and the Aztek Pearl, Giant Feather Grasses, Hydrangea, Acer and Liberta Grandiflora are all coming to life again in my main planters. Then once the daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers are all finished I will change the pots to grow my edible garden. The Rhubarb is another plant that you think has disappeared but grows back year after year which is a real treat making cost effective gardening!
I hope you enjoy looking at a few of my favourite photos from last week. Also if you follow me on Instagram you can see others that inspire me each day.
