London meetings and inspiring images.

I had a great week of design meetings, working mainly with our design studio clients  / London meetings and inspiring images from my week…. We are so lucky to be working as Ghost designers on three such wonderful projects and we are at the exciting stage with all, each at a very slightly different stages, but starting to see the designs come to life. We have researched their markets, done trend colour research, we have painted or drawn or developed designs from original artwork supplied. We create each design into a fully working pattern repeat that has layers for the printers or weavers to work from. This week with our clients I was talking through each proposed design so final tweaks can be made. Now the fun really begins as we start to receive the actual printed or woven samples. We are constantly thinking would we love this in our own home, is the scale right for curtains or blinds, is the colour combination creating a beautiful fabric or wallpaper. If we don’t say yes to each of these questions it needs re-worked. Although I cannot show any of this work just being out and about it so inspiring for me so i wanted to share with you some of my snaps of the week, as I use my camera as my visual diary of thoughts.

Out and about I see so many inspiring images that I capture on my camera and I am loving sharing some of these in my weekly blog and on Instagram. This week I was in London and surrounding areas which was stunning in the sunshine. Walking or driving to different places this week for my meetings it is amazing what you see in the centre of London, Bethnal Green, North London & Kent.

Then back to Glasgow for mill meetings to finish the week. Including a Scottish mill visit as we are developing a plains range and new print base for one of our design studio projects, so the full range is made and printed in the UK. It was great to meet and discuss the finishing we are looking to create as we want a very relaxed soft finish to the linen cloth, in a beautiful range of rustic colours.

Seeing the bluebells in London last week made me want to find a Forest as you are hard pushed to see something more magical! I found this great website so you can find your nearest bluebell forest! I look forward to going to find one next weekend, as we were a bit too busy with two weddings this weekend to go in hunt of bluebells! It was such a special time with friends.

The weather has been a little crazy this weekend from brilliant sunshine and short bursts of rain, hail & snow! We were at a beautiful wedding in Edinburgh and I ran to the Botanics on Saturday morning so I could take a photo for the wedding card as it was such a pretty sunny morning – ‘New Beginnings’. I was so impressed with Snappy Snaps fast service and I spray mounted the photo onto the cards. Then the wedding celebration party we went to of friends who married last year was also great fun as we caught up with so many friends we hadn’t seen for ages. All in all a wonderful weekend!
