Happy New Year & 2016 Highlights, a quick look back over the last year. Most importantly though I wish you all the best for a exciting 2017 ahead….
It was a lovely time being off over the festive period spending time in London and Scotland for us. We had lots of great walks, cooking and fun time with family and friends. I hope you had a special time as well.
Now the Christmas decorations have gone away for another year the house is feeling bare. I love this time of year to plan interior changes so look forward to sharing these ideas as they develop.
My home decor hit list for 2017 is:
- The sofa – new cushions
- My bedroom adding wallpaper, new cushions and lampshade.
- The stairs going to my attic studio at home
What is going to be your new year changes or impovements at home?
Best Selling Designs 2016.
At this time of year I love having a quick look back on what we did last year including what were the most popular designs and colours of the year.
Firstly it has also been good looking back at what were the most popular designs and colours last year at Natasha Marshall.
Our best selling fabric last year was Flip Lemon Slice. The Flip design is so easy to use in interiors for curtains or blinds as it mixes neutrals and the pop of colour so effortlessly. This fabric design is printed onto a cotton linen base cloth in the UK.
Our best selling wallpaper of the year was PomPom Lemon Slice. People love the mix of grey, white and yellow, it is such a happy fresh colourway to use in your home. I love using lots of neutrals and a pop of one colour in my home as well. The geometric floral also brings the outside into your home. Our wallpaper is also all printed in the UK.
Natasha Marshall Design Studio Work 2016
2016 was a great year working on a wide variety of projects in the design studio at Natasha Marshall.
The highlight had to be working on the hand printed fabric range for Bert and May, launched at Decorex. You can read more about the collaboration in one of my past blog post here. This was followed by the hand print workshop we did with them at Soho Farmhouse. This really took us back to where we started in 1997 with our own hand print studio.
Natasha Marshall Fabrics being used in Architectural Buildings.
2016 saw us working on a few wonderful projects with CameronWebster Architects. They have been building stunning homes that were finished off with our fabrics for curtains, blinds and wallpaper. As the houses are photographed in 2017 I can’t wait to share photos with you all.
Other 2016 Highlights:
We also loved seeing the new cushion range we designed being sold at Sterling Homestores across Scotland.
We loved seeing in store and shop displays by many Natasha Marshall Stockists over the year including Tinsmith, Bell House and Steven Burgess. As well as online and magazine promotions by Wallpaper Direct. We can’t thank our stockists enough for all their support promoting and selling our designs.
As I closed 2016 on Instagram with my best nine images…..An amazing year of pattern, printing and creating is coming to an end. Let’s hope that next year is more of the same and less crazy on the world around us front!! 2017 and our 20th Anniversary!
It will be 20 years in February since Neil and I set up our print studio designing fabrics and wallcoverings for the interior industry! To start off the celebrations we are offering 15% off our Ikon fabric collection which includes Drift, Blossom, Always, Zip, Plectrum, Billow and Beanstalk designs. When you check out online you just have to add IKON15 to your order or if you place a order by email you add this to your order. This offer will run until the end of February and is valid on all fabric by the meter orders from the Ikon collection
When we launched Natasha Marshall last year we re-coloured our favourite archive designs to create the Ikon Collection. It is a range built up of Natasha Marshall Designs that date back to 1998.
This offer is also being extended to our Alibi plain Collection as it coordinates so well with the Ikon fabrics. When you check out you just have to add ALIBI15 to your order or if you place a order add this to your order. This offer will also run until the end of February and is valid on all fabric by the meter orders from the Alibi collection.
From the start in 1997 we set out to design simple geometric patterns that we would love to live with and architects would want to use in their projects. All fabrics back in the late nineties when we first launched our designs were very busy so creating fabrics which were timeless and didn’t detract from the architectural space but instead complemented it was our aim. It has been amazing this year to see so many wonderful architectural projects using the Natasha Marshall fabrics. Roll on 2017…… xx
