Geometric Brights Inspired My Weekend

Time with friends, relaxing, vintage hunting as well as geometric brights inspired my weekend. This is always our busiest time of year getting ready for the design shows, so a working weekend was needed! But it was a enjoyable one…. It started with Flip firecracker being our most popular wallpaper last week. I then got my copy of Good Homes Magazine and wow! The Flip firecracker bedroom looks superb – Alison Lovett’s eye catching scheme built around our Flip wallpaper & cushions is stunning and eye catching. Read more in the October issue to see how to play with pattern in your home.

Our Natasha Marshall cushions also feature on the front cover – Zip nightshade and Link firecracker looking superb on the sofa.

Paisley Make Exhibition:

We are exhibiting at Paisley Make that starts on Thursday this week. I enjoyed mixing patterns and colours for our Natasha Marshall display ideas this weekend.

We can’t wait to see how Scotland RE:Designed curate the exhibition. A exhibition showcasing Scottish Fashion, Accessories and Interior Makers. It will be a exciting event 31st August – 3rd September so book your free tickets online – Paisley Make.

We are already having a Flip firecracker lampshade made so I went off to find a vintage stand for it. I love the idea of strips of wallpaper hanging with one of my favourite pieces of furniture – Wishbone Chair by Hans J. Wegner and NM cushions. Mixing modern geometric pattern, iconic furniture and vintage pieces really bring character and happiness into a home.

It is going to be a weekend of events and the showcase of designers work – Celebrating Paisley’s pattern collection, assets and abbey, rekindling a community to inspire new ideas, skills, craftsmanship and celebrate entrepreneurship. It is all part of Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021. You can read more about the event on the Paisley Make website.

Our first event we are attending in the studio is on Friday – James Lang of Scottish Leather Group: The Story of Leather in Paisley.

On my hunt for a lamp stand I went to Vintage & Retro on South Street where I have meant to go for years! It is a labyrinth of rooms full of treasures. A real alladins cave where I found many chairs, textiles and lamp bases that I would love to restore and recover.
