Last weekend I had a wonderful weekend away, a sea of colour inspiration by the seaside and family time! After design meetings in London on Friday my mum and I headed off to Dorset to stay with friends for the weekend. We were staying in their cottage in Winfrith Newburgh, where we used to spend most of our Summer holidays when I was growing up. It is near Lulworth Cove which is a very special place full of happy memories.
I also visited my best friend from school in Wimborne for a wonderful day with her family and had a special lunch in Bournemouth at the hotel I used to work in every Summer and Easter holidays when I was at school, owned by one of my mums best friends….a hug of a weekend if there is such a thing!!
From my photos you can see the colour inspiration I will take from this wonderful area of the UK. The layers of greens, neutrals, greys and yellows are wonderful to see against the blue sky as well as all the flowers – I have shared a few of my favourite photos!
Princes Trust 40th Birthday Celebrations.
When back in London for meetings I also had an amazing afternoon with Diane at Buckingham Palace celebrating the Princes Trust 40th Birthday.
It was an amazing Garden Party to celebrate the 40 years of the Princes Trust, which is an incredible charity helping young people. I am on the Scottish Council and also had help from the Trust to start our business in 1997. Favourite Natasha Marshall Fabrics & Wallpapers:
I love the Pompom wallpaper and Zip fabric used together, so we hope we get to see photos of peoples interiors to see how they are being used.
Our Billow sea fog fabric is such a pretty fabric for a bedroom or sitting room curtains or blinds. Zip feather grey is a elegant geometric pattern that works so well as curtains or blinds in any room in your home. Both designs are very simple so they work in a very modern or traditional interior.
Pompom wallpaper from our Tandem collection is a great way to add pattern and a pop of colour into your home. We also do this as a fabric in our Alegre collection.
Our #PitchToRich – VOOM2016 entry.
Can we say a huge big thank you to everyone who voted for our #PitchToRich. We put in a last minute entry and still have 960 votes and so far have come 138th place which is superb news as when I first looked we were at 747th place! Voting closes tonight so I don’t think we will have made the top 80 to go to the next stage of the competition, but it has still been an amazing experience. We will have to enter again next year in the Grow category!
