There are not many places in the world you could enjoy city and west coast inspiration fun in one weekend. Glasgow is a place that lets us have this luxury. A wonderful visually inspiring weekend.
It has been a fun packed weekend that started after we left the studio on Friday night to catch the ferry to Dunnon from Glasgow in the torrential rain. A bleak start, but the welcome from so many friends in the Kames Hotel pub was a wonderful start to the weekend ahead. We then woke up to sunshine in one of my favourite places in the world – Tinnabruaich. This ferry trip back was a very different experience, as you can see from my photos! The Scottish landscape is full of inspiration from wild, misty, rain through to stunning blue skies and clouds.
We had to head off early as tickets for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with family beckoned and wow what a festival it is again! We went to see Paul Merton’s Impro Chums which was hysterical, they are so clever. Then I just love walking round the city to take in the different acts on the Royal Mile. We had a great walk to Leith Walk past the Parliament and Holyrood Palace. We went to a great favourite – Spanish Tapas Serrano & Manchego for dinner before heading home to Glasgow.
Loved trying to capture the Scottish landscape and colours with watercolours. The colours and stripes created are very inspiring to work from. I look forward to developing these ideas further so we can capture these ideas in fabric or wallpapers.

I love lots of white in my interior and using our sands and feather greys for curtains or blinds as I love the calm feeling this creates in your room. I then add pops of colour with cushions and art.
