British Fabric and Wallpaper Designers
Having worked in the textile industry creating fabrics and wallpapers for 18 years, in 2009, Natasha Marshall and Neil Fullerton set up the Glasgow based design studio, Natasha Marshall Limited working predominantly as ghost designers.
Since the studio opened, we have worked with mills around the world creating textile collections for a number of high profile clients based throughout the UK and Europe. The brands we work with sell worldwide into a wide number of sectors including retail, hotel, cruise, leisure and healthcare.
The Natasha Marshall team pride themselves in supplying fabrics and wallcoverings that are both imaginatively designed and in keeping with an individual brand’s own distinctive handwriting, as well as being technically suitable for the relevant sector.
We are trend and market aware, and specialise in creating patterns, which are then developed through the design and production process, working with mills both in the UK and all-around the world to create the finished textile product or collection. Projects are tailor-made for each client and we work to a specific brief and brand handwriting where required.
Creation of Trend and Mood Boards
From a review of current trends, the design team create a route for our clients or projects using mood boards to present and agree the story.
Using our extensive experience, we can complete an in-depth analysis and presentation of the proposed markets and price points for the collection or project.
Creating Designs / Collections
We have an experienced team in creating designs in repeat and colouring using the CAD programs – AVA, Illustrator & Photoshop. We work on designs and initial drawings or alternatively we can use existing designs from an archive taking them from an initial starting point into AVA CAD CAM software, where they will be developed and prepared as required.
Once collection designs have been completed, we provide detailed layered artwork separated and ready for print or weave of the agreed designs to be developed into production samples.
The colouring of existing designs or designs we have created will be presented with a colour story which works in association with current trends or agreed colour groups.
Manufacturing choices and production
We have an experienced understanding of the wallpaper, printed fabric and weave design and production processes. The team are experienced in liaising with mills, printers and engravers throughout the world, and as a result, can help recommend manufacturers who fit with both the look required and budget for your brand.
We will work directly with selected Mills to test and produce samples in line with the agreed designs.
Key trade shows are attended each year to source and meet with manufacturers including Heimtextil, Proposte, Evteks and Mood.
Pattern Book Artwork and Design
Presentation of the final collections is key and we can work with you on presentation ideas using In-Design and Photoshop and 3d cad visuals. We will collate all the technical specifications required including fire certificates and in-house we are experienced in the design and creation of the pattern book lay-outs, artwork and liaise with the manufacturers to have the books, binders or hangers made-up.
Photo-shoots and styling
We have experience in the planning and styling of photo-shoots. We have worked with photographers throughout the UK and Europe, in their studio and on location. Our process would be to draw up story boards for each shot and organise all the props and if required, attend and set up all shots.
3D CAD Design
Our In-house 3D CAD skills, are extremely effective when used to create and present Trade Show Stand Ideas. We can provide full three dimensional designs, which will facilitate the construction of trade stands, facilitating the presentation of completed collections.
